Sorry it took me until now to notice.

Second, the post by "Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame" is so awful and so in need of supporting evidence, that it almost moved me to wade into the swamp. It took me about five minutes to think of solid rebuttals to each of the claims he made, and I just literally spent my entire drive to work trying to solve some exponential growth problems in my head so I could demonstrate just how ridiculous the "tax cuts increase revenue" claim was.

Megs is not good for very much, but if her objective is to raise my blood pressure, she's a frickin genius.Lurking Canadiannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2222630007427380394.post-11452102811265574662014-10-24T19:55:22.649-05:002014-10-24T19:55:22.649-05:00Not "TMI" but too many lies, propaganda,...Not "TMI" but too many lies, propaganda, crazed hate-driven philosophies. Very poor 'noise-to-information ratio'.

A lot of it started when Regan killed the "fairness doctrine". Conservatives hate fairness.

One problem is that so very many people LOVE being lied to, prefer the yummy junk-food info to healthy fruits & veges facts. I recall back in the 1970s wondering why politicians were such sickening liars, and then realizing: People (even some liberals) WANT lies.

Thats why Arglebargle and Loadpants and Douchehat and David Brooks are doing so well, never mind the Fox stable of rabid skunks.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03176801494652946278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2222630007427380394.post-73110354799029845502014-10-24T11:47:18.627-05:002014-10-24T11:47:18.627-05:00The right has its pivotal moment of indignation--t...The right has its pivotal moment of indignation--the hippie era. I think lack of education and lack of empathy are the problem and both are being slowly tackled. And things are much better now than they were 100 years ago and will be much better in 100 years than they are now. But it's a tough slog for someone who only gets the hundred year span between and has to deal with the two-steps-forward, one-step-back nature of progress.NonyNonynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2222630007427380394.post-90595628659482671072014-10-21T15:25:29.309-05:002014-10-21T15:25:29.309-05:00Everyone has a pet theory. For all his faults, Paul Krugman is telling people to call liars liars, to mock those who think they can browbeat us into letting them lie us to death.

We do have some options. The right has a weak point: the billionaires don't want to give the tea party what it wants any more than the Democratic party wants to give progressives what they want. Depending on deliberate stupidity can backfire.

We can't be stronger than them but maybe we can weaken them at pivotal points.

Eventually however we'll have to convince the billionaires that we'll kill them if they don't share the wealth. A couple of high-profile assassinations, some mansion-looting, and a few chaos events (threats of random death) should do it.

Susan of Texashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00076915322771385454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2222630007427380394.post-52130420781260643312014-10-21T14:37:51.488-05:002014-10-21T14:37:51.488-05:00It's be a whole lot easier to fight off Derpdo...It's be a whole lot easier to fight off Derpdom if "our" side would do a better jerb for us.

But they don't. Most people haven't made out like the banksters since the banksters broke our economy.

And that makes it easier for the derpsters to succeed.

And succeed they will, just like in 2010. If the information is there but a large percentage of the population chooses to be this stupid, what hope is there for a better country? It's not that they have not consulted the latest research on a topic, it's that the research just does not matter unless it's from the Heritage Foundation. How do you fix this problem? More facts, research, and knowledge does not shrink the stupidity bubble.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
