Thanks. The "important ones" is a point well taken but I would argue that the "important ones" from both sides were complicit in calling for death and devastation.
Although I am thoroughly unfamiliar with Ms. McArdle's CV, give me a minute and I'll try to catch up. I can get my mind around people who lie for money (greed)but people who lie just for the sake of lying or to advance some political agenda...I don't get it. And you, "work hard" on this drivel? It is certainly a loss we should all feel and I'm glad McMegan has enough empathy to feel it. But I do find it curious that she gets through it by connecting it to herself, "it could have been me." Unfortunately for the thousands of children who have died as a result of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, McMegan cannot relate to living in a 3rd world country that has resources coveted by the US. Same for all the children who never reach their potential because of economic sanctions to their countries.

I'm not sure if it can be evil if it comes from extreme self-centeredness and callousness. I guess I think of evil as something more active than that. Kids are just as dead though.

-ecl.

ps. congrats on your new troll. Are you the type who dishes it out but can't take it? In respect to argument and reason, the whole point of my comments is that progressivism is so idealogically blinkered most believers are impervious to reasoning and argument. I mean is there any argument that would convince you that McArdle is not evil? Of course not.
