Ross Douthat
tells us that affirmative action is now longer necessary because minorities can be successful and will soon be the majority anyway. He does not notice that if he keeps his mouth shut eventually he and his fellow whites will be eligible for what he constantly refers to as special treatment and unearned opportunities. Considering the intellectual depth Douthat is passing on to his offspring, they will need all the help they can get. He also does not notice that he is shilling for corporations who do not want to help the poor rise out of poverty.
The important number in the column is 2028.
ReplyDeleteThe date when affirmative action must be gone, by a weird coincidence, is when the army of little Douthats twinkling in his eye will be ready to claim their legacy admissions.
Imagine that.
Every time somebody links to that guy with a few comments, I think "oh, it can't be *that* bad." Then I follow the link and it isn't that bad. It's worse.

IF the screwy little monk ever does get around to procreating.

Oops. Sorry for the dupe.
ReplyDeleteWell, there's a female majority in the US and everything's just peachy for women now. Right?
