I am tired today so I leave you with this:

  1. The stock market finally woke up and smelled the coffee: The Republicans have successfully sabotaged the economy, with the complicity of our corporate Democrats and enabler in chief.

  2. "Bank of America and Citigroup stood out for all the wrong reasons in Monday’s market meltdown. Shares of the two banks led the decline amid new doubts about the quality of the assets buried on their balance sheets.

Investors now believe that Bank of America’s net worth is only about a third of what the bank claims; for Citigroup the figure is less than half." http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-08-10/falling-bank-stocks-offer-a-too-big-to-fail-wakeup-call-view.html

How long can they continue to extend and pretend?

  3. I will take a day or two off from worrying about this. My sister just brought my first nephew home from the hospital today.

  4. Congratulations! Nephews are so much fun. Best wishes for the whole family.

Babies love peek-a-boo. They can't believe that you can make your face disappear and appear like that and it tickles them every time.

  5. Must recommend my current favorite books on babies--either of The Philosopher Baby or The Scientist in the Crib by Alison Gopnik. These books are revealing to me what I instinctively saw and felt about being with newborns and toddlers. Its an incredible experience once you grasp what they are building while you play peekaboo with them. When my first daughter was born we had a babysitter from Liberia. She always called it Peggyboos and so we do too.

  7. Another useful baby book is "Consumer Guide to Baby Products". Along with product ratings, they have really excellent advice and information.

  9. You know, Glenn Beck has been claiming Angry Birds is a metaphor for the American experience. To him, American life is all about attacking the pigs who want your eggs.
