Obama: his administration created a web site that didn't work very well in the beginning, but eventually worked just fine. Millions who had previously been uninsured, now were able to buy health insurance.
Bush: his administration ginned up a war in which hundreds of thousands lost their lives and cost trillions of dollars. And in the end, it turned out that Sadam didn't have any WMD.

And she wrote a book about success through failure, and wrote several posts about how failure makes you smarter and therefore we should only listen to people who fail.

She is so incredibly dishonest.

ACA is abominable. It is a Corporate Healthcare Reform that equates Health Insurance with Healthcare, which is insidious. Obama killed the public option and had the Senate pass a protectionist bill for Big Pharma. McArdle is dishonest in her criticism of a corporate friendly "Healthcare Reform". Anyone who defends ACA is just as Libertarian and into "Market Based Solutions"(as the ACA website itself boasts) for social programs. It's enough to note her atrocious mendacity and innumeracy. If anyone starts defending ACA, a huge windfall for Health Insurance Cartels, Big Pharma, and Hospital Chains, they're just as reprehensible and mendacious. Also President Obama passed the ACA with a House bill attached that denied funds for reproductive healthcare(the Stupak(D) amendment) which carries forward the old Hastert clause for "no federal funding for abortions"(i.e. poor women have no right to reproductive healthcare). Anyone who defends ACA is at least equal or worse than McArdle, IMO.

In a State of the Union address President Obama praised the Iraq War and said it made "America more respected in the world and made the world a better place". He also tried, with all his powers, to keep our troops in Iraq despite Dubya's treaty to have US troops out by the date they left. President Obama also issued an Executive Order making the day Dubya's War on Iraq started a "Day of Honor". President Obama's VP and both of his Secretary of State's voted for the Iraq War. Please, do not claim he is any better or would have done any different when we see how he doubled down in Afghanistan(just as criminal a war), wanted to stay in Iraq, Libya, armed and trained Neo-Nazis in Ukraine, and armed and trained terrorist groups in Syria.

The "Hash" was hilarious. McArdle has a claque of followers who guard her person with the zeal of Monks reverently keeping vigil over Holy Relics. They are true believers in the worst sense.

I found out before Obama's first election that very few people will fight for liberal principles and liberals are frequently just as good as conservatives at ignoring what they don't want to see or hear.

I am forced to be grateful for any crumbs that are thrown our way because I need those crumbs. I don't know if enough people will ever be willing to stand up for what is right. It's such a waste. And we might not survive it.

"Megan, I was thinking yesterday just how lucky Bloomberg is to have you (you tell them that for me will you?).

There's lots we don't agree on politically. But, you produce 5 or 6 well thought out, well researched and well written articles a week. While you have an opinion which you don't hide in your writings, you don't allow that opinion to cause you to forget about facts. You cover a wide breadth of subjects and do it at a very high level of excellence with virtually every article.

There are certainly other good writers out there (don't laugh, I like quite a bit of what Dylan Matthews and Sarah Kliff over at Vox do), but offhand, I can't think of anyone who produces such a volume of consistently good writing.

Thank you."
