Shorter Ross Douthat: Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, what does a manly intellectual have to do to get noticed around here? God is a conservative, do you hear me? He gives life, that's conservative! And America is conservative! Just look, people are being forced to spend less money--that's conservative! And see that woman over there? She's pregnant and that means she's conservative too!
