Let's Play Blame The Victim

Shorter Kathryn Jean Lopez: Gabrielle Giffords was nearly killed by the culture of death she supported.

Yes, K-Lo is blaming Giffords' pro-choice stand for the attempt on her life. "The Corner" is a misnomer. It should be called "The Dank, Slimy Place Under A Rock."

And I was watching, too, whom most of their incivility was aimed at — Sarah Palin, a person who shouldn’t have been part of the story but was dragged into it.

And LOVED it.

Regarding the rest, gee that K-Lo is a sicko.

Even if K Lo was right about abortion, and that kind of karma actually existed, Lopez would have been found eaten by a swarm of Big Macs by now.

Decades ago Russell Baker wrote a funny column about how he wanted to live in Commercial Land, where everything was great, all the kids were cute, and noble laborers at the end of the day would throw down their tools, embrace one another, and troop off together in the golden sunset for a beer.

Lately I've started to wish that I could live in today's Commercial World where, mutatis mutandis, things are also ideal.

But now I've decided I want to live in K-Lo World, where Rush Limbaugh is wise, Sarah Palin is "dragged" into controversy, and nothing outside of one's tiny head and fondest fantasies makes the slightest impact. Where do I sign up?
