As for Marc Rich . . . okay, so a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea. (12/8/08)
Starting with a disastrous land reform that placed land into the hands of political cronies, rather than those who knew anything about farming, or needed sustenance, he has turned a huge net food exporter into a net importer . . . when they can get the hard currency to import. Each successive foolhardy economic policy, designed to cover up some of the problems that have sprung up due to his last terrible, horrible, no good, very bad economic idea, has made things hideously worse. This is considered witty in Megan's circle of morons.
If only she would follow through on Alexander's vow.
So, Megan's sophomoric and coy little witticisms are borrowed without attribution from someone else... a writer for children? About her speed.
Next, she'll use Dr. Suess quotes, like "Greenies' and Spam" or "The Wingnut with a Gat", and its sequel "The wingnut & gat Comes Back"
Eh- I'm cranky today. Apparently The House of Reps thought no one would notice if they jumped up-and-down screeching like chimps, and passed anti-abortion legeslation on a Saturday.
As I believe I've surmised before, she probably types fast and this is a way of spinning out some space-burning words with even less brainpower than she applies to her own "original" thought.
But repeating the title of a single kid's book over and over is doltish, especially since it doesn't add anything beyond verbosity.
BTW:
Brian Beutler put a nice McArdle-related image that I thought the denizens of this wonderful blog may appreciate:

He captioned it "Accidental hilarity."
She went to all the trouble of digging up the Judith Viorst reference, and by God, she's going to keep using that reference until someone chuckles appreciatively and pats her on the head!
Thanks, riffle. And Heh!.
