Because it's a really, really big city with lots and lots of people who, in general, are living their own lives and do not give a shit what kind of welcome home you yearn for, K-Lo. Hope this helps.

This is pure K lo--she can't even get a common colloquial phrase correct. It is "setting foot in NYC" not "putting a foot on the ground" or some other weird circumlocution. Klo: editor is like Liberal Fascism, two words that don't belong next to each other. Her tin ear and her abysmal education make her painful to read.
