We have neglected Megan McArdle of late, but only because she has been less entertaining than usual. She just did a little concern trolling, wrote off Europe, and digressed into irrelevancies. Perhaps she is busy settling into her new house and marriage, but we hope she returns very soon to her usual fine form. The elite can't crush the masses by themselves, you know.
Meanwhile, libertarian principles are hard at work without anyone to cheer them on!

Susan,
That final link is dead.
On the topic of irrelevancies, I can't figure out why she blockquoted the article about Sub-Saharan population growth. No comment, no elaboration, no nothing. What is her point beyond provoking one of her commenters to refer to Africans as spear-chuckers?
I'll just leave this here. Sure is too bad we didn't emulate that Irish model. By the way, did something else happen on that island some time between 1980 and today that might have contributed to a better business environment? Can't think of anything...
On the positive side, her comment swamp has driven away all entities with minimal self-awareness.
Which must mean her influence is shrinking.
Maybe she has an intern or underling writing these posts for her a la Sully.
AWS
If she had an intern, the writing would improve by default. It hasn't.
Thanks CP! Link fixed.
I knew I should be reading up on Ireland in McArdle's files, but I was too lazy. It's a good topic because she's insisted that Ireland's lack of regulation and banking-palooza were the reason for Ireland's very temporary success.
Her influence isn't shrinking because the blogosphere has done exactly what they complained the MSM was doing 8 years ago, except with even less accountability.
They link to the same people as they did 8 years ago because they rarely learn their lesson when they get snookered by other bloggers.
